You Don't Remind Me Of Flowers

Dried roses, staining the pages of old books,

breathing new life into old stories

much like the new beat to my old, weary heart.

Wilting sunflowers on coffee stands

withholding their essence in age,

like the bond betweens two lovers' souls.

Blooming wildflowers on walking paths,

leading the way, as you do for me.

You don't remind me of flowers,

you create flowers;

sunflowers growing in our hands embrace,

roses blooming from locked lips.

You don't remind me of flowers,

you create flowers.

You don't remind me of love,

you are love.
